 Creation: US 641 Spur was opened as new construction in 1987. Kentucky requested this be designated US 641 Toll since it went to the then-tolled Purchase Pkwy (now I-69). In December 1988, AASHTO denied this request. It is unclear if US 641 Spur was designated right away. County maps through at least 1990 show US 641 Toll, but the 1999 Marshall County map shows US 641 Spur. The first state official to explicitly show US 641 Spur is the 2007 issue.
Adjustments: The only change to US 641 Spur has been to add ramps to/from Purchase Pkwy west, about 2000.

Comments: US 641 Spur is posted only from I-69. There used to be postings at KY 58 and US 641 but sometime after 2008 (GMSV) they were removed.
With I-69 no longer tolled, mainline US 641 could be rerouted over US 641 Spur and onto I-69 to bypass Benton.
