In 1928 or 1929, US 366 was rerouted in Roswell. The old route: Barrendo Rd east to Railroad Rd northeast. At Pine Lodge Rd, Railroad Rd becomes a primitive dirt road. after 2.2 miles, abandoned north 0.1 mile, then abandoned northeast 1.2 miles back to then-US 366 Old Clovis Hwy.
In June 1930 (AASHO), US 366 was replaced by US 70 from El Paso to Clovis NM and US 60 from Clovis to Amarillo.

US 366 used the abandoned S loop in the Blackwater Draw area west of Roswell NM
Out of Roswell, US 366 used US 70-285; Pine Lodge Rd; Old Clovis Hwy until current US 70, then crosses over as abandoned alignment that closely parallels US 70 for 2.5 miles before melding back in with US 70; 0.8 miles later, abandoned south parallel to just past Magdalena Rd, then crosses over US 70 abandoned 0.9 miles, then abandoned 4.7 miles paralleling US 70, nearly meeting it again just past Ponderosa Rd before heading abandoned northeast 1.2 miles, the abandoned ENE 1.1 miles back to US 70 at Alcalda Rd.
US 366 used Railroad Mountain Rd east and north through Kenna to 0.9 miles; abandoned northeast 0.8 miles; abandoned north 5.3 miles; CR 22 east to Elida; abandoned along east side of railroad out to US 70; US 366 used US 70 eastbound through central Portales; abandoned 2 miles northeast beginning 2.7 miles east of NM 202, then north abandoned a mile back to US 70.
US 366 used Brady Rd/CR 9 east out of Clovis, then US 70-84 to Farwell TX, then FM 292; Railroad St/abandoned/Edwards Rd/abandoned along the east side of the railroad all the way to Bovina; North St; Railroad Rd out of Bovina/abandoned along east of railroad/CR 1 Railroad Rd/abandoned along east of railroad through Friona, continuing to Black/abandoned or unnamed dirt roads along the south of the railroad to nearly Hereford; De Los Santos St/abandoned; US 385 into Hereford; US 60 to Umbarger; FM 168 north; FM 1062 east; US 60 then the US 60 EB frontage road; TX 217 (11th St then 4th Ave) and US 87 (23rd St) through and north of Canyon.
US 366 used the I-27 ROW up to just past S. Georgia St in southern Amarillo; NB frontage road to S. Van Buren St (except a wider arc centered around Parker St); 36th Ave; Fillmore St to then-US 66 (6th St).
US 366 #2: Created July 1931 (AASHO) as a renumbering of US 470 when US 60 and US 70 were reworked in New Mexico. New Mexico first tried to get this renumbered as US 60 (deferred by AASHO), then thought maybe it should be US 460 instead. US 366 ran from US 66-85 (now 4th St) Albuquerque NM to US 60 (now CR B085) near Willard NM.
About the time US 470 became US 366, the route from Moriarty west to Barton was changed to current NM 333. The original routing was stair step routing and there are multiple possibiliies here. Best guess: I-40 Bus which does not connect to Green Rd north, Thomson Rd west, Martin Rd north, Dinkle Rd west.

About 1933, US 366 was removed from Sedillo Rd between Zuzax and Barton
About 1937, US 366 east was extended south as new construction to the new US 60 alignment.
In January 1938 (AASHO), US 366 west was truncated to Moriarty with the route to Albuquerque renumbered as part of US 66. Today this is I-40 Bus; NM 333 to Zuzax, then used North Zamora Rd on the other side of I-40 for about 2.3 miles; South Zamora Rd below I-40 to its NM 333 junction; I-40 ROW to about NM 14; NM 333 to just past the NM 337 interchange; I-40 ROW to the next big curve; NM 333 to about Exit 170 (except Atanacio Rd); mostly I-40 ROW to Exit 167; Central Ave into Albuquerque.
This left US 366 as just 27 miles long.
In August 1938 (AASHO), the remainder of US 366 was downgraded to NM 41 from US 66 Moriarty to US 60 near Willard. Today it is NM 41 through Estancia to about Alan Ayers Blvd; Salt Mission Tr/Old NM 41 east of the former RR to Moriarty; 4th St in Moriarty which no longer connects back to NM 41; NM 41 to I-40 Bus.

US 366 #3: Suggested by AASHO in March 1934 to be the designation to replace US 66 from US 85 Romeroville to Santa Rosa NM as part of US 66 being given its direct route west via Moriarty. New Mexico had requested the Romeroville-Santa Rosa routing become US 66 ALT.
By the time US 66 was actually being moved in 1937, New Mexico requested the Romeroville to Santa Rosa segment become US 66-N but instead became part of US 84.
US 366 #4: In June 1956, AASHO denied a request for a new US 366 to run from US 66 (now US 87) Amarillo to US 70 Little Rock AR. The proposed route followed US 287 from Amarillo to Hedley TX; TX 203 to Oklahoma; OK 9 all the way across the state to Arkansas; US 271 to Fort Smith; US 71, then AR 10 to Little Rock.
