Creation: Officially ppeared in June 1990 (TXDOT) as the 2nd US 380 Business, running through Decatur TX. This was a renumbering of Loop 569. However, it likely was posted back to April 1987 when US 380 moved onto the bypass.
June 1990 was when Texas converted MANY Loop routes that were signed as Business routes into actual Business routes to satisfy a new policy that routes will be signed the same as they are designated. Thus, I believe US 380 Business was already signed in Floyd when this occurred.
Comments: US 380 Business uses Washburn St, Walnut St, Cates St, and "Hwy 380" through Decatur.
US 380 Business is not posted terribly well.

US 380 Bus #1: Pretty sure this existed starting 1971. When the first bypass of Floyd TX was built, the highway was still TX 24. TXDOT redesignated the old route as Loop 469 but said to post it as TX 24 Business.
When US 380 replaced TX 24, there was no mention of whether TX 24 Business became posted as US 380 Business.
In June 1990 (TXDOT), mileage from Loop 462 was formally transferred to US 380 Business. This was when Texas converted MANY Loop routes that were signed as Business routes into actual Business routes to satisfy a new policy that routes will be signed the same as they are designated. Thus, I believe US 380 Business was already signed in Floyd when this occurred.
In June 2010 (TXDOT), US 380 was decommission when the second Floyd bypass was completed and the first bypass became US 380 Business.
Today the first US 380 Business through Floyd is CR 1152.
All county maps I can locate before 1990 showed this as Loop 462. I have yet to find a Hunt County map dated 1990-2010.
US 380 Bus #3: Earliest documentation of this comes June 1990 from a new policy that routes will be signed the same as they are designated. This document formally changes Loop 129 in Bridgeport to US 380 Business. The associated minute order said US 380 Bus only ran from TX 114 Bus (13th St at Halsell St) in central Bridgeport northeast out to US 380. Because this appeared in the appendix with the new policy, this means 380 Business was probably already signed on Loop 129. I can find no document putting Loop 129 into or out of the state highway system.
In March 2007 (TXDOT), US 380 Bus was redesignated as Loop 373.
Because the path for US 380 Bus to continue west out of Bridgeport back to US 380 would be overlays with TX 114 Bus and TX 114, it is possible US 380 Business was posted but not credited with any mileage. Unfortunately, the earliest Street Views are from 2008 and all 380 Business signage was gone by then.
I haven't found any map that shows this 380 Business at all.
