US 377 Loop  a mirage?

Final ROUTE LOG

US 377, TX 183 END: 5 - 12
US 377 Loop: Appears on a 1940 Gousha map of Texas running as a bypass around the west and north of Fort Worth as an overlay with TX 183. I do not find any documentation in the TxDOT historical minutes for US 377 Loop. TX 183 was in place per TxDOT in October 1939.
While US 377 Loop may not have actually existed, it does beg the question why a US 377 bypass wasn't utilized in this location...
