Creation: An original state route in 1923, running from TN 6 (now E Main St) Gallatin to TN 24 Carthage.
Adjustments: In 1929, TN 25 west was extended as new state highway to TN 49 Hubertville.
In 1936, TN 25 was placed on the Cordull Hull bridge from Carthage to TN 24. Previously it used a bridge at the end of 2nd St in Carthage
By 1938, TN 25 was removed from Hood Rd east of Cross Plains; Gregory Loop east of Hartsville
It appears during the 1940s TN 25 was removed from Stalcup Cemetery Rd east of Hartsville
In 1952, TN 25 was removed from Old Hwy 25/Main St through Hartsville
In 1958, TN 25 was removed from Old Hwy 25 through Castalian Springs.
In 1963, TN 25 was removed from Dixon Springs Cir through Dixon Springs; Riddleton Cir through Riddleton; Peytons Creek Rd/TN 80/Harstville Pike/TN 263 through Monoville and Carthage
It appears during the 1970s TN 25 was removed from Rainwater Lane in Cross Plains; Albert Holder Loop east of Hartsville
In 1983, TN 25 west was extended as new state highway to TN 161 Barren Plains.
