ROUTE LOG

US 119: 6.3 - 6.5

Creation: Appeared in 1971 or 1972 as a renumbering of part of WV 14. It originally ran from US 60 ALT (now Kanawha Blvd) Charleston northeast to US 119 east of Big Chimney. This is the only WV 114.
Adjustments: In 1979, WV 114 was rerouted in the Big Chimney area to its current Elk River crossing and path to end at I-79. All of this was new construction. The old routing to US 119 is now CR 49 Indian Creek Rd; CR 49/6 Trinity Way; removed bridge over Elk River; and CR 119/61 Chimney Dr (SB 114) and CR 119/62 Chimney Dr (NB 114).
Between 1990-92, WV 114 south was truncated to US 60. The route south to Kanawha Blvd became part of US 60.
Improvements: Upon designation, WV 114 was fully paved; WV 114 is mutilane from US 60 to Yeager Airport
Comment: Primary way to get to Yeager Airport
