WV 50: Appeared in 1922 as new primary highway, running from the Virginia State Line below Rippon to the Maryland State Line at Harpers Ferry.
In 1927, WV 50 was replaced by US 340 which it still is except WV 50 used CR 340/20 Star Sign Ln; CR 340/18 Augustine Ave into Charlestown; WV 51 through Charlestown; CR 340/6 Somerset Blvd; CR 340/12 and WV 230 through Halltown; US 340 ALT Washington St through Harpers Ferry to the old bridge location into Maryland.
