US 41E  redesignated
Previous US 41E's:

US 41E: First mapped by Tennessee in November 1927 as a replacement of US 241 from Nashville through Springfield to Guthrie, Kentucky following TN 11.
AASHO eventually noticed US 41E on Tennessee maps and accepted their belated request to make this change in mid-1929.

In 1930, US 41E was removed from Pineywoods Rd/Mint Springs Rd/Keysburg Rd between Adams and the Kentucky line
Also in 1930, US 41E was removed from Rivergate Pkwy and Two Mile Pike north of Nashville and instead placed on Dickerson Pike

In 1931 or 1932, US 41E was removed from TN 76, TN 256, Mud Cat Rd and Main St from Adams to Cedar Hill.
In 1932, US 41E was removed from Rivergate Pkwy and Two Mile Pike north of Nashville and instead placed on Dickerson Pike; also removed from Old Springfield Pike between Goodlettsville and Ridgetop; Old Springfield Hwy just insode Robertson County.
In 1935, AASHO officially changed US 41E to be part of US 41. Tennessee declined to sign the route this way (despite changing their route logs) and US 41E remained on the route.
In the early 1940s, US 41E was extended south to meet the new US 41W routing in Nashville. Originally it ended at 5th and Deaderick St. US 41E now used Deaderick/1st/Broadway to begin at Broadway and 8th

In 1944, US 41E was renumbered as US 41. It remains US 41 except in Nashville it is Broadway/1st; Old Greenbrier Pike between TN 257 and Springfield; abandoned to the east adjacent to the quarry and N Main St in Springfield; a bit of US 431; a bit of TN 161; Old 41N/S Garrett Rd/N Garrett Rd north of Springfield; also Dunn Rd at Cedar Hill
Tennessee Officials still showed US 41W through at least 1946. This was due to AASHO deferring this action to 1947 because of controversy surrounding the former US 41E and 41W designations (including the never-posted US 43 and a later desire to have the route via Clarksville be mainline US 41)
