Comment: US 11 Business is very poorly posted in Cleveland...at TN 60 in N. Cleveland there are TN 74 shields only. This was the only place I saw TN 74 shields past the Inman/Wildwood intersection.

Previous TN 74's:

TN 74 #1: An original state highway which in 1924 ran from TN 24 (likely Burton Branch/Dry Valley intersection) Algood southeast to TN 1 (now US 70) Crossville.
In 1925 or 1926, TN 74 west was redefined as ending in Crossville, leaving behind Dry Valley Rd.
In 1927 or 1928, TN 74 was renumbered as TN 42. Today this is US 70N except: E. Hudgens St out of Crossville (now cutoff by TN 111); the west half of Parker Rd north of I-40; some of I-40's footprint at Exit 300 and 1/4 mile west; a touch of Industrial Rd north of I-40; the 1929 Official suggests the route crossed the railroad multiple times but there doesn't seem to be any roads even on older topos that do this other than Junior Camp Rd west of Mayland...

TN 74 #2: Appeared in 1927 or 1928 as new routing, running from TN 39 (now US 411) Ocoee east through Ducktown to the North Carolina line near Isabella.
If TN 74 ever used TN 314 and Hooker Rd out of Parksville it stopped doing so in 1929.
In 1933, US 64 was added to the entirety of TN 74.
In 1934, TN 74 was extended west to Cleveland. TN 74 was also removed from Longley Rd at this time.
By 1938, TN 74 was removed from Isabella Ave in Isabella which used to connect to TN 68/Five Point Dr intersection.
In 1941, TN 74 was renumbered as TN 40. TN 74 remains US 64 today except: Cherokee Trail and Five Point Dr into Ducktown; Old US 64 at the NC Line; a number of abandoned alignments along the Ocoee River as US 64 has been straightened out some.
