VA 441  not currently assigned
Previous VA 441's:

VA 441: I had originally believed this was assigned to Three Chopt Rd near Richmond during a transition period of VA 19 moving from today's VA 147 to today's VA 6. However, after careful study, NE2 posited a theory that may be more plausible:
Prior to July 1932, VA 411 became a discontinuous piece of VA 409 running from today's US 360 south towards Winterpock. The original piece of VA 409 was running from Petersburg west via Ettrick and Matoaca towards Winterpock.
In July 1932, over 4 miles were added to the newer 409 piece, which put it south and west of Winterpock. This doesn't make much sense if the idea was to eventually connect the two pieces of VA 409. So the theory is that the part of 409 that existed west of where the two pieces of 409 would meet is what was VA 441.
Under this scenario, VA 441 was renumbered as part of VA 153 and today is part of SR 602.
Obviously, VA 441 is not on any map I have ever seen. There was precedent for doing this sort of thing - see VA 546 and VA 547.

Note that CR 11 runs between the two red circles (the lower right is the location of a July 1932 extension).
The blue circle was the other July 1932 extension - was the road between the blue and upper red circle 441?
