From: near Frazier Bottom (Putnam County)
To: (Putnam County)
Total Length: 0.6 miles
ROUTE LOG
US 35: 0 - 0
WV 62: 0.6 - 0.6

Creation: WV 869 was designated about 1998 (bridge date) as new construction, running from US 35 (now WV 817) curling around and over the Kanawha River to end at WV 62. This is the only WV 869.
Adjustments: About 2008, WV 869 was truncated to its current US 35 intersection, with the curl-around now part of US 35's routing.
Improvements: Upon designation, WV 869 was fully paved; no multilane segments.
Comment: WV 869 passes over WV 817 without direct connection.
WV 869 is not posted. Whenever US 35's missing gap is constructed, I presume WV 869 will extend west out to it. Will it get posted then?
WV 869 has shown up explicitly labeled on some WV Officials and even some Rand McN atlases.
I believe the purpose of WV 869 is to provide a way for I-64 (via US 35) traffic to reach Buffalo more easily.
