 Creation: Appeared in the 1960s as mostly new construction from I-77 west to WV 2-14 in southern Parkersburg as a renumbering of WV 81. This is the only WV 95.
Adjustments: In 1972, WV 95 was extended south with WV 14, then west replacing WV 2 along Dupont Ave.
In 2005, the west end of WV 95 was shifted south a little bit to make room for the nearby US 50 interchange.

Improvements: Upon designation, WV 95 was fully paved; WV 95 is multilane except for its Dupont Rd segment.
Comment: WV 95 is Dupont Rd southwest of Parkersburg and Dooley Ave southeast of Parkersburg.
