Adjustments: In 1929, TN 64 east was extended to US 70S Woodbury. The 1930 Official map mileage log (and the map) showed TN 64 was only actually built as far east as Wartrace.

1930 Route Log

In 1931 or 1932, TN 64 east was truncated back to US 41. There is still no road that runs from Bradyville northeast to Woodbury.
If TN 64 ever used Walker Rd/Earl Warren Rd leading into Beech Grove it stopped doing so by 1933.
In 1935, US 41 was removed from Oscar Cromwell Rd, so TN 64 was extended to the new US 41 along Confederate Cemetery Rd.
Between 1939-56, TN 64 was removed from Old State Hwy 64 and "Highway 40" in Farmington and put on new routing to a new west endpoint further north.
Around 1968, TN 64 was removed from Confederate Cemetery Rd as part of the I-24 construction.
In 1976, it appears TN 64 was removed from Mt. Olivet Rd and "Old Hwy 64" south of Wartrace.
In 1983, TN 64 was extended east to Bradyville, then north to US 70S (now Murfreesboro Rd) near Readyville, way west of Woodbury.

In 1985, TN 64 was removed from Old State Rte 64 near Fairfield.
In 1987, TN 64 east was truncated nearly a mile to the new US 70S routing, leaving behind Bradyville Rd.
Between 1982-88, TN 64 was given its current route through Wartrace. Previously it used Church St/Fairfield Rd/Sims Ave.
Between 1993-2002, TN 64 was removed from Holland St and Depot St through the Shelbyville Courthouse area and instead placed on more Cannon Blvd, Lane Pkwy and the new arc to Jefferson St.
Posting: Posted as primary from Farmington to Shelbyville and from US 41A to Beech Grove; posted as secondary everywhere else
The overlay with US 231 is fully posted
Secret US Route Overlay: None
Comment: connects I-24 to Shelbyville
TN 64 between US 41 and US 70S is a little disjointed and not sure why they felt the need to put this in the system.

Previous TN 64's:

TN 64 #1: An original state highway which in 1924 ran from TN 39 (now Grady Rd) North Etowah to TN 33-72 Maryville.
In 1925, TN 64 was removed from Old Federal Rd through Nonaburg to Notchy Creek; Old tellico Hwy to Center; Old Store Rd to Rocky Spring; Federal Rd to Hopewell Springs; Povo Rd. Instead, TN 64 was sent through Englewood and Madisonville.
In 1927 or 1928, TN 64 was renumbered as part of TN 33.
Today, TN 64 is Etowah Old Federal Rd; US 411; Old Englewood-Etowah Rd; US 411 through Englewood (except Old Englewood rd and Main St) towards Madisonville; Englewood Rd/College St/Warren Rd through Madisonville (no longer connects to)/Niles Ferry Rd. Where NIles Ferry Rd cuts north to Vonore, TN 64 continued northeast along the west edge of the Tellico River (now underwater) to the Little Tennessee River ferry which was just to the west of the current US 411 bridge; the entire Monroe County piece of TN 64 north of the ferry is now either underwater or abandoned; US 411 northward from Trigonia Rd; Niles Ferry Rd (no longer connected to)/Niles Ferry Pike all the way to Maryville.
The 1924 map shows TN 64 through Madisonville but the 1923 and 1926 route logs clear say near Madisonville and not through it. TN 33 listing on the 1928 route log does say through Madisonville.
