SC 902: Appeared in 1934 or 1935 as new primary routing as a short connector between SC 265 and SC 9 (now SC 903).
In 1949, SC 902 was extended northeast to SC 9 near Pageland, replacing part of SC 9. In 1951, SC 902 was renumbered as US 601. Note that in the Lynches River area, SC 902 used today's Wintertide Dr crossing which is S-13-823 on the Chesterfield County side.
