Creation: SC 513 appeared in 1940 as new primary routing, running from SC 512 (now S-22-5) east to SC 261.
Adjustments: In 1947, SC 513 was downgraded to S-22-11.
In 1949, SC 513 was revived to run from SC 512 north over S-22-5 for a mile, then east across S-22-11 to SC 51 (now SC 261), then over S-22-32 and S-22-13 (had been SC 707) to end at US 701 Yauhannah.
In 1950, SC 513 was extended southwest to SC 511 (now SC 41-51) over what had been SC 511's route earlier.
In 1960, SC 513 was truncated to SC 261, with the route to Yauhannah becoming part of SC 261.
