VA 423: Appeared in Dec 1930 (CTB) as new routing running from VA 401 (now SR 729) Danieltown north 0.37 miles.
In June 1931 (CTB), a second piece of VA 423 appeared running from VA 48 (now VA 40) outside Blackstone south 2.37 miles.
In July 1932 (CTB), the original piece of VA 423 was extended north to the Nottoway County line.
In July 1933, both pieces of VA 423 were renumbered as part of VA 137. Today it is part of VA 46 except in northern Brunswick County VA 423 used an old alignment within Fort Barfoot that is to the east of VA 46.
