SC 904: Appeared in July 1936 (SCDOT) as new primary routing, running from SC 9 (now SC 9 Bus) Loris north to the North Carolina State Line at tabor City.
In 1940, SC 904 was extended southwest to Allsbrook, then south to end at SC 905 Hickory Grove.
In 1947, SC 904 was reduced to its original 1937-40 routing. South of Loris became S-26-19.
In 1951, SC 904 was re-extended over S-26-19 to Allsbrook, then continued replacing S-26-52 southwest to US 701 (now SC 410) south of Bayboro.
By 1953 (1952 Horry County Map shows it but not 1952 Official), SC 904 was renumbered as a rerouted US 701. Today the northernmost 0.1 mile is US 701 Business for Tabor City, NC.
