Adjustments: In 1942, SC 702 was extended east with SC 7 into Greenwood, then east as new routing to SC 246 then after a brief overlay north with SC 246, extended east as more new primary routing to SC 22 (now SC 34) near Greenwood State Park.
In 1945, SC 702 was extended southeast as new primary routing to the Saluda County Line.
In 1947, SC 702 was reduced back to its 1940 routing leaving behind SC 72 (now 72 Bus); S-24-29 (some of this is now S-24-101); S-24-24, S-24-42; S-24-43. The SC 246 overlay is now "Old 246".
In late 1950, the loop piece of SC 702 became part of SC 72. Also, SC 702 was reinstated from SC 246 southeast past SC 22 to end at SC 39.

Improvements: Only paved on eastern half upon its creation.
The 1942 extension was paved to a couple miles east of Greenwood.
The 1951 resurrection was fully paved.

Comment: SC 702 is a good short cut to use between Saluda and either US 25 or US 178 on the other side of Greenwood.
