SC 140  not currently assigned
Previous SC 140's: SC 140: Appeared in 1941 or 1942 as new primary routing. Ran from US 15 Hartsville northwest to the Chesterfield County Line, just past Granthams Crossroads.
In 1948, the 5 miles of SC 140 were downgraded to S-16-21.
SC 141  not currently assigned
Previous SC 141's: SC 141: Appeared in 1941 or 1942 as new primary routing. Ran from US 76 west of Horrell Hill to SC 262.
In 1948, the 3.5 miles of SC 141 were downgraded to S-40-37.
SC 145
From: US 1 near McBee (Chesterfield County)
To: North Carolina State Line above Chesterfield (Chesterfield County). SC 145 continues as NC 145 to US 74 Pee Dee, NC
Total Length: 27 miles (SC + NC 145 = 42 miles)

 Creation: Created in 1960 or 1961 as a renumbering of SC 85, as NC didn't want NC 85 and I-85. Ran as it does today. This is the 2nd SC 145.
Adjustments: None.
Improvements: SC 145 was paved upon designation.
No multilane sections shown on the 2005 Official map.
Comment: SC 145 passes through a large swath of the Carolina Sandhill National Wildlife Refuge.
Previous SC 145's: SC 145 #1: Appeared in 1941 or 1942 as new primary routing. Ran from SC 644 (current S-15-24) east to US 15 halfway between Walterboro and Canadys.
In 1948, the 3 miles of SC 145 were downgraded to S-15-34.

 Creation: Created in 1941 or 1942 as new primary routing. Originally ran only from SC 56 Cross Anchor to US 221 Woodruff.
Adjustments: In 1957 or 1958, SC 146 was extended west to US 276 Greenville, but used SC 101 north to SC 417 west, giving a total length of 37 miles.
In 1959, SC 146 was given its current routing between Woodruff and US 276.
Improvements: Fully paved upon designation.
The 2005 Official Map shows no multilane sections, but IIRC, west of I-85 has been multilane since the late 80's?
SC 146 may also be 4-laned through central Woodruff.
Comment: SC 146 can serve as a useful route between I-26 and the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport (via SC 101).
SC 149  not currently assigned
Previous SC 149's: SC 149: Appeared in 1941 or 1942 as new primary routing. Ran from SC 102 at the Little Boggy Swamp bridge east beneath the Sandhills State Forest to US 15 at the Buckholtz Creek Bridge and was a total length of 8 miles.
In 1948, SC 149 was downgraded to S-16-23.
