Outer Loop

The Woodrow Wilson Bridge, the I-95/I-495/Capital Beltway crossing of the Potomac River, has been under a reconstruction/replacement project since 2002.  A project milestone was reached on December 6, 2008, when the Outer Loop (northbound I-95 and "counter-clockwise" I-495) Express Lanes (also called the "Thru Lanes") were opened across the bridge.  The following pages show photos taken within a few hours of the express lanes opening.
