N.C. 55-A  dead
Formerly:
NC 55-A: Born between 1950-53 as a renumbering of a piece of NC 55 in Bridgeton. When the Neuse River bridge carrying US 17-NC 55 was replaced, it was far enough south that the US 17-NC 55 split was moved as well, creating a triangle set-up using a 0.15 mile piece of what had been the bend in NC 55.
Between 1958-62, NC 55-A was downgraded to SR 1601, C St. Today most of this is physically gone as the new US 17 multilane routing was put in this area.

1957 Craven County
