Southern Terminus

Approaching VA 311 from VA 159 southbound.  Photo by Mapmikey, taken January 26, 2007.

Actually at VA 311. There is a decent sized triangle here but I've never seen any evidence of a VA 159Y or VA 311Y.   Photo by Mapmikey, taken January 26, 2007.

The view from northbound VA 311. Until 1949 this was the north end of VA 311 while US 60 went in both directions here.   Photo by Mapmikey, taken January 26, 2007.

Heading up VA 159 away from VA 311.  Photo by Mapmikey, taken January 26, 2007.

From VA 311 southbound.   Photo by Mapmikey, taken January 26, 2007.

Northern Terminus

On westbound US 60 approaching I-64. This is the first VA 159 shield.   Photo by Mapmikey, taken January 26, 2007.

After the ramp that carries US 60 onto I-64 west, this is your view, with the interstate high overhead.  Photo by Mapmikey, taken January 26, 2007.

From VA 159 northbound. VA 159 is implied to continue on, although the EB US 60 movement carries through here as well.   Photo by Mapmikey, taken January 26, 2007.

From VA 159 northbound approaching the US 60 WB ramp to I-64 WB. Signage here suggesting 159 keeps going is flat out wrong.   Photo by Mapmikey, taken January 26, 2007.

Former Northern Terminus

Before I-64 was built in the mid 1960s, US 60 turned right here and VA 159 began ahead. Before 1949, this was where US 60 ALT began to the right.   Photo by Mapmikey, taken January 26, 2007.

Approaching old US 60 (SR 600) from VA 159 North.   Photo by Mapmikey, taken January 26, 2007.

Actually at old US 60 (SR 600). I-64/US 60 is around the bend ahead.   Photo by Mapmikey, taken January 26, 2007.

From SR 600 eastbound. There is a mini-triangle here.   Photo by Mapmikey, taken January 26, 2007.
