ROUTE LOG
US 321: 0 - 0
SC 72, SC 121: 9 - 9
SC 9: 4.8 - 13.8
Creation: SC 909 first appeared in 1940 running as a cutoff between SC 9 and US 21 (now SC 72-121) Lewis. This is the only SC 909.
Adjustments:In 1942, SC 909 east was extended south to Knox, then east to end at today's S-12-56/498 (Old Richburg Rd/McDaniel Rd) intersection. SC 909 west was extended as new routing west to US 321, then north with it to Lowrys, then southwest as more new primary routing past SC 9 to end at today's S-12-42 Cassel's Rd.
In 1947, SC 909 was restored to its 1940 routing. West of Lowrys became S-12-29; East of Lowrys became S-12-29 ; southeast of SC 9 to Knox became S-12-35 and a bit of S-12-56.
In 1951, SC 909 was re-extended replacing all of S-12-29 to today's S-12-1 and replacing a rerouted US 321 to Lowrys.

Improvements: Fully paved by 1948. No multilane sections.
Comment: SC 909 has 3 turns to make in its path from end to end. I have never driven any of this route, so I don't have much to offer...
