SC 299: Appeared in 1942 as new primary routing, running from US 29 Spartanburg northeast to today's SC 110. A second separate piece ran from SC 11 Gaffney west to today's S-11-39. Both of these pieces were on the same road.
In 1947, SC 299 was downgraded to S-42-31 and S-11-31 before ever being connected. The westernmost mile of the Cherokee County piece became part of the super-2 US 29 and is now part of I-85.
