SC 190  not currently assigned
Previous SC 190's: SC 190: Appeared in 1941 or 1942 as new primary routing. Ran from SC 39 in northwestern Saluda County southeast to SC 19 (current SC 121), then northeast to end at today's S-41-145 near Perry's Crossroads.
In 1948, the 11 miles of SC 190 became some of S-41-67, some of S-41-43, and S-41-31.

 
 
SC 191
From: SC 421 Warrenville (Aiken County)
To: SC 121 Johnston (Edgefield County).

Creation: Created in 1937 or 1938 as new primary routing. Originally only ran from SC 19 Eureka to SC 19 (current SC 121) Johnston.
Adjustments: In 1941 or 1942, SC 191 was extended south to its current end in Warrenville, which was then US 1-78.
Improvements: SC 191 was fully paved in 1941 or 1942 except between Vaucluse and SC 19 which was paved in 1951 or 1952; no multilane sections shown on 2005 Official Map.
Comment: SC 191 is blown off by I-20, though it does meet SC 19 near its exit with the interstate.
Until SC 19 was renumbered to SC 121, SC 191 formed a 2-mile shorter route for SC 19 between Eureka and Johnston.
SC 192  not currently assigned
Previous SC 192's: SC 192: Appeared about 1930 as a bypass of Newberry. Ran from the US 76-176 jct (current US 76-SC 121 jct) southeast to US 76 (now US 76 Bus).
SC 192 was renumbered as the US 76 Bypass in 1948.
SC 193
From: SC 23 Ward (Saluda County)
To: SC 121 (Saluda County).
Total Length: 6.9 miles

Creation: Resurrected as a state route in 1949, running as it does now.
Adjustments: SC 193 first appeared in 1937 or 1938, as a 2-mile stub south off SC 19 (current SC 121).
In 1939, SC 193 was extended south to SC 23 Ward.
In 1948, SC 193 was downgraded to secondary status for a year (even though it was paved!)
Improvements: SC 193 was paved in 1940; no multilane sections shown on 2005 Official Map.
Comment: SC 193 is the ONLY S.C. primary route I have not driven or even crossed.

 
 
SC 194
From: US 378 Saluda (Saluda County)
To: SC 391 near Saluda River Bridge (Saluda County).

Creation: Resurrected as a state route in 1949, running the way it does now.
Adjustments: SC 193 was first created in 1939, as a 4-mile stub northeast from SC 19 (current SC 121) Saluda.
In 1940, SC 194 was extended east to SC 391.
In 1941 or 1942, SC 194 was extended southwest to end at SC 197 (current S-41-21), bringing SC 194 to a maximum length of 22 miles.
In 1948, SC 194 was completely downgraded to secondary status. West of Saluda became S-41-42. East of Saluda the number is unknown, as it is again SC 194 today.
Improvements: SC 194 was fully paved in 1949; no multilane sections shown on 2005 Official Map.
Comment: SC 194 is yet another SC 19x route I have not driven any of (although have crossed its endpoints).

 
 
SC 195  not currently assigned
Previous SC 195's: SC 195: Appeared in 1941 or 1942 as new primary routing. Ran 3 miles from SC 43 (current US 378) to SC 194 Denny's Crossroads.
In 1948, SC 195 became S-41-39.

 
 
SC 196  not currently assigned
Previous SC 196's: SC 196: Appeared in 1939 as new routing. Ran as a loop through Trenton, with SC 19 as both endpoints.
In 1940, SC 196 was extended north to SC 23 for a total of 7 miles.
In 1948, SC 196 was downgraded to S-19-18. Today, the Trenton loop part is the SC 19-121 CONN.
SC 197  not currently assigned
Previous SC 197's: SC 197: Appeared in 1940 as new routing. Ran from SC 19 (current SC 121) in southrn Saluda County northwest 11 miles to US 178 Masons.
In 1948, SC 197 was downgraded to S-41-21.
