SC 100  not currently assigned
Previous SC 100's: SC 100: Appeared in 1940 as new routing. Ran from SC 9 east of Chesterfield southeast 10 miles to US 1 at Cheraw State Park.
In 1941 or 1942, SC 100 was extended 2 miles west around the south of Chesterfield to SC 9 on the west side of town.
In 1948, SC 100 was downgraded to S-13-20. SC 100 around Chesterfield became SC 9 Bypass, no later than 1949.
SC 101

Creation: Created in 1927, running only from SC 10 (current US 221) Woodruff to US 29/SC 8 (current SC 290) Greer.
Adjustments: In 1937 or 1938, SC 101 was extended south from Woodruff through Gray Court, and ending at today's S-30-54 jct.
In 1940, SC 101 was shown as projected from the S-30-54 jct southwest to US 76 Princeton.
In 1949, SC 101 was extended north as new routing from SC 290 to SC 11.
In 1959, SC 101 was given its current south ending, cutting south replacing part of S-30-54. The projected routing to Princeton (shown as dotted lines on 1958 Official) became S-30-20 but no road has ever been built from the Greenville County Line SW to Princeton.
Improvements: SC 101 was paved from Greer south about 5 miles in 1936.
In 1937 or 1938, SC 101 was paved completely between Greer and Woodruff, and from Woodruff south to the Enoree River.
Between 1943-48, SC 101 was paved in its entirety, except for the Enoree River Bridge area.
SC 101 was finally fully paved in 1951 or 1952.
SC 101 was 4-laned from I-85 to Greer in 1997. No other multilane segments shown on maps.
Comment: SC 101 serves the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport area.

 
 
SC 102
From: BUSUS 15 Hartsville (Darlington County)
To: SC 9 Chesterfield (Chesterfield County).
Total Length: 25.6 miles

Creation: Created in 1937 or 1938 as new routing, running as it does now, except it ended a few blocks north at SC 9's original route through Chesterfield.
Adjustments: In 1940, SC 102 was extended south to SC 151 in Hartsville.
In 1948, SC 102 was restored to its original routing, leaving behind S-16-18 and part of S-16-10.
Sometime after 1954 (maps are vague) but before 1990, SC 102 north was truncated to the SC 9 bypass of Chesterfield.
Improvements: SC 102 was paved between 1943-48.
No multilane segments shown on official maps.
Comment: SC 102 serves Sandhill State Forest.

 
 
SC 103  not currently assigned
Previous SC 103's: SC 103: Appeared in 1937 or 1938 as new routing. Ran as a 4 mile spur east from SC 11 (current SC 18) Gaffney.
In 1939, SC 103 was extended east 5 more miles to just short of the Broad River, and was extended north through Gaffney to the North Carolina State Line, for a top distance of 18 miles.
In 1940, SC 103 north of Gaffney was renumbered as SC 150.
In 1948, SC 103 was eliminated. The western 4 miles became part of SC 105, while the rest became S-11-13.
SC 104  not currently assigned
Previous SC 104's: SC 104: Appeared in 1939 as new routing. Ran as a 4 mile spur northeast from SC 43 (current US 378) McCormick.
In 1940, SC 104 was extended north and west to meet SC 10 below Bradley.
In 1941 or 1942, SC 104 was rerouted to make a loop further east in the middle of its original route. The direct route between the loop became SC 432 (part of US 221 now).
In 1948, SC 104 was downgraded to S-35-41 and S-35-85. The other parts were downgraded, too, but are now US 221.

 
 
SC 105

Creation: SC 105 appeared in 1940 as new primary routing. Ran from SC 103 (current S-11-13) south to today's SC 211, then east to end at SC 5 (current SC 97) Hickory Grove.
Adjustments: In 1942, SC 105 was rerouted to avoid crossing the Broad River into York County, and instead proceeded southwest to end at SC 98 (current SC 105 SB-211 WB jct) Sarratt. The old route to Hickory Grove became SC 211.
In 1948, SC 105 was extended north to end at SC 11 (current SC 18) Gaffney, replacing SC 103.
In 1955 or 1956, SC 105 was extended south to SC 9-49 Mt. Tabor. This replaced part of SC 98.
In 1960 or 1961, SC 105 was extended south to its current end, replacing part of SC 49.
In 1974 or 1975, SC 105 was extended north through Gaffney to I-85.
Improvements: SC 105 was fully paved on all alignments since inception in 1940; no multilane segments shown on the 2005 Official map.
Comment: SC 105 covers the southeast Cherokee County region.
SC 106  not currently assigned
Previous SC 106's: SC 106: Appeared in 1940 as new routing. Ran from US 1 Aiken northeast to SC 391 (current S-2-21) at the N. Edisto River Bridge.
In 1941 or 1942, SC 106 was extended southwest through Aiken, and ending west of SC 28 (current S-2-5) in the village of Kathwood, to have a grand total of 29 miles.
SC 106 was downgraded to S-2-32 and S-2-29 in 1948. Today, the piece southwest of Aiken is now SC 302 as well.

 
 
SC 107
From: SC 28 near Oconee State Park (Oconee County)
To: North Carolina State Line (Oconee County). The route continues as NC 107 to US 23 Business in Sylva, NC.

Improvements: SC 107 was paved only from SC 28 to Oconee State Park at inception.
In 1950, SC 107 was paved on its lower half.
SC 107 was fully paved in 1951 or 1952
No multilane segments exist on SC 107.
Comment: SC 107 traverses a large chunk of Sumter Nat'l Forest, in addition to Oconee State Park.
SC 107 was featured on the 1953 Official Map as the "newly constructed DeSoto Hwy".
SC 108  not currently assigned
Previous SC 108's: SC 108: Appeared in 1940 as new routing. Ran from SC 100 (current S-13-20) at Teal's Mill Pond east 6 miles to US 1-52, SC 9 Cheraw.
In 1948, SC 108 was downgraded to S-13-22.
SC 109
From: SC 145 Sandhills Nat'l Wildlife Refuge(Chesterfield County)
To: North Carolina State Line above Mt. Croghan (Chesterfield County). The route continues as NC 109 to US 311 Winston-Salem, NC.

Creation: Created in 1937 or 1938 as a new primary route. Originally ran from SC 9 Mt. Croghan north to the state line.
Adjustments:In 1939, SC 109 was extended east with SC 9 to Ruby, then south to SC 85 (current SC 145).
In 1941 or 1942, SC 109 was extended south to US 15 Hartsville. Also, a discontinuous piece was created running 4 miles from SC 155 (current S-16-13) Auburn east to US 52 Floyd. The total length of all parts of SC 109 reached 38 miles.
In 1948, SC 109 was truncated to its current routing, leaving behind S-13-29, S-16-20, and S-16-24.
Improvements: SC 109's first pavement came in 1939 with its SC 9 multiplex.
In 1940, SC 109 was paved from NC south to SC 85.
No multilane segments are shown on official maps.
Comment: SC 109 serves local Chesterfield County traffic, while NC 109 has a long route through the Tar Heel State which once stretched to the Virginia State Line.
