NC 485: was born as new primary routing in 1922. It ran from NC 48 (now US 158 Business) Murfreesboro northeast to the Virginia Line. By 1923 VA 121 met up with NC 485 on the other side heading for Franklin, VA.
In 1927, NC 485 was renumbered as part of NC 12. Today it is part of US 258, except right in Murfreesboro, NC 485 used Hart St from Main St to cross the Meherrin River, with an "Old US 258" on the other side.
