The Road: Begins at NC 226 Polkville (Cleveland County) and ends at NC 27 near Lincolnton (Lincoln County)
Towns and Attractions: Cleveland Co: Polkville, Lawndale, Fallston

History: NC 182 appeared about 1952 with the same endpoints as today. Polkville to Fallston was a renumbering of NC 180 while the rest was upgraded routing. There have been no real changes since.

The first NC 182 appeared in 1930 as new primary routing. Ran from NC 18 Shelby northwest to Polkville, then north to Casar before looping back eastward around to NC 18 Bellwood.
In 1931, NC 182 from Polkville to Shelby was renumbered to NC 190 (today it is NC 226 except right in Shelby it used Grover St).
In 1938, NC 182 was renumbered as part of NC 27 except for Carpenters Grove Church Rd SR 1614 below Curt Joe Ledford Rd.

Comment: NC 182 doesn't seem like it would be a through route for many people.
