History:		NC 123 appeared in 1932 as new routing. It ran from US 258/NC 12 (now NC 58) to Hookerton. This had briefly been part of NC 12 in the early 1920s. In 1938, NC 123 was extended north to NC 102 (now NC 903) Maury. In 1951, NC 123 was extended north to US 258 Lizzie. NC 123 stub route NC 123 extended to NC 102 NC 123 extended to US 258
Comment:		NC 123 could have been used as a bypass of Snow Hill for US 258 traffic as it is shorter...
